CHIEF Muyombe of the Tumbuka people of Mafinga District, has appealed to government leaders to always give correct information to the Head of State.
Speaking when Muchinga Province Minister, Malozo Sichone, paid a courtesy call on him, Chief Muyombe said leaders, especially those at the grassroots, should always should act responsibly and provide the right information to the President.
Chief Muyombe urged the authorities who were working with the people to inform the leadership on the challenges they were facing.
Chief Muyombe said providing accurate information to authorities would enable Government easily move in and address the concerns of the people.
He said the president could not be everywhere therefore it was incumbent upon those representing the people, such as MPs, councillors and district commissioners, to give accurate information to the Head of State.
“My appeal is that leaders that are close to the people should give the right information to the Head of State because he cannot be everywhere, he can only know what is going on if we give him accurate information,” Chief Muyombe said.
He said leaders at local level should help the President by providing him with the correct information to facilitate decision making on matters affecting the people.
Mr Sichone was accompanied by Muchinga Permanent Secretary, Joyce Nsamba, and Mafinga District Commissioner Vivian Namwayi,
Meanwhile, Chief Muyombe has commended Government for constructing a modern local court in the area.
Chief Muyombe has however appealed to relevant authorities to ensure the Muyombe Local Court was operationalised.
“On behalf of Muyombe residents, allow me to thank government for building a very good local court structure here, however, the structure needs to be handed over for it to be fully operational. It is high time the building started working,” Chief Muyombe said.
