FOUR armed and masked men are reigning terror in Zambezi after they injured two and burnt down a house belonging to their suspected target, North Western Province commissioner of police Hudson Namachila has confirmed.
Mr Namachila said the district police station received a report of an arson case where Edwin Titima,46 of Mize Capital reported that his house and household goods valued at K25, 000.00 had been burnt to ashes by unknown persons.
He said the victim told the police that he was not home when everything happened but two people he identified as Alice Titima and Joseph Musunga were present.
“I can confirm receiving a report of an arson case in the Litangaji village of Zambezi district involving Edwin Titima whose goods worth K25, 000.00 have been burnt to ashes by four armed and masked unknown persons,
“Two of the men were armed with suspected AK47 rifles and the other two had axes. I am glad to report that no life has been lost but when they went to the household of Titima they found Alice Titima who was hit using a stick and sustained a suspected fractured left leg and Joseph Musunga who sustained a cut on his forehead”, the commissioner said.
Mr Namachila said the scene was visited and three empty cartridges of an AK47 rifle was found, adding that the area was being combed for suspects after police established their motive to harm Mr Titima.
He further said a docket had been opened and investigations instituted.
