In another court a juvenile has pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in psychotropic drugs and narcotic substances.
The juvenile admitted before magistrate Nsunge Chanda, whom he told that there was a person in the compound that supplied him the drugs and that smoking marijuana helped him do his job as a callboy.
And his mother said caregivers sponsored her son up to grade eight when she was sick.
She said the boy passed but could not go to grade nine because she did not have money and became a callboy.
Magistrate Chanda told the boys’ mother that poverty ould continue if she did not educate her son.
“He is smoking and taking cannabis. You can’t give responsibility to the society to care of your son, it’s your responsibility as a parent,’’ she said.
Magistrate Chanda urged her to bring the boys’ father at the next hearing of the case.
The matter will come up on August, 28, for continued hearing.
