A LUSAKA Juvenile has pleaded guilty in the Lusaka Magistrates Court to house breaking and stealing a TV set worth K4, 500 which he wanted sell to buy new clothes.
It is alleged that on July3 the juvenile broke into a house of Japhet Zulu and stole property worth K4, 500 in Lusaka.
The juvenile admitted before Magistrate Nsunge Chanda, that he broke into the house of Zulu where he stole a 41 inch LG TV set worth K4, 500.
He said he stole the television set with his friends because they wanted to buy new clothes, adding that it was his first time to be engaged in stealing.
The boy’s grandmother told the court she had been keeping him boy since his parents passed on
She took him when he was only a baby from the village and brought to Lusaka but that he never went school.
But Magistrate Chanda ordered that the boy must take a medical examination to ascertain that his true age because he was not convinced he was a juvenile.
The matter comes up on August 28 for continued hearing.
