A THIRTY-FOUR year old man of Chief Chibwika area in Mwinilunga district has been found dead at the gold spot after he was allegedly beaten by four men for reasons yet to be established.
Commissioner of police Hudson Namachila confirmed the death of Chinga Nswana Kalenga of Kanyisangi in Zebesha area.
Mr Namachila said the incident occurred on August 12 around 09:50 hours and he was informed though a telephone call from a member of the public who stumbled on the corpse.
“Acting on the call, police rushed to the scene and confirmed the murder case also the body was identified by the aunt of the deceased Christine Saluzhinga, 41 years of Ikelenge district,
“She told the police that her nephew was allegedly beaten by Robby Sakulanda and three others and later died from the injuries,” Mr Namachila said.
Mr Namachila said the police on the physical inspection of the body discovered it had multiple bruises with blood coming out from both mouth and nose.
He said the body has since been deposited in the district mortuary awaiting postmortem as foul play was suspected adding that a docket had been opened but no arrest had been made as investigations have been launched.
