AN unclaimed body of man found in a decomposed state at Machavika village in Chirundu, has been buried by the local authority, council secretary John Mwanza has confirmed.
Mr Mwanza has since appealed to people who may be missing a relative to visit his office so that they could be shown where the deceased’s remains had been buried.
The dead man has been identified as Isaac Malamo who was born on 26th February 1987 in Solwezi in North Western Province who came from Mumba Village in Chief Oloolo area of Senanga district.
Mr. Mwanza has shared Mr Malamo’s photos in Chirundu Development forum WhatsApp group of the national registration card department.
He has advised other members to share the photos so that the relatives could know that their relative died in Chirundu district.
Meanwhile, a senior resident and business man of Chirundu Mr. Maxwell Mintengwe has expressed concern over the accident that occurred at Four Nyau in the Kapiri Ngozi area involving an overturned truck that was carrying empty bottles which closed part of the road.
Mr. Mintengwe said that worse still, the bottles on the road caused another accident involving a truck that was carrying oranges.
He has appealed to the council to help clear the road.
And when contacted for a comment, Mr Mwanza said the owner of the wrecked truck managed to remove it from the road and all what remained was to clear the empty bottles.
He confirmed the accident and cautioned motorists to drive with care on the Chirundu-Lusaka Road.
