Taguta faces attempted murder charge

POLICE in Lusaka have charged Kenneth Taguta, 47 with attempted murder after he pushed his wife out of a moving vehicle at the weekend.

Police Deputy Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga has confirmed the development to Millennium Radio.

On Sunday, police at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport received a report of attempted murder in which Taguta pushed his wife from a moving vehicle after a quarrel.

The incident happened in the presence of the couple’s 14 year old daughter.

Taguta had gone to pick his wife from the airport as she was coming back from Kenya, Nairobi.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday.

The woman is currently still admitted at Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital, as she suffered head injuries.

At the time of her admission to hospital, the woman identified as Lillian Kasalika aged 45 could not speak due to the intensity of the injuries.

Mr Hamoonga said the suspect has been charged with attempted murder and will appear in court soon.
