THE Boma Local Court in Lusaka has reconciled two taxi drivers who exchanged for allegedly exchanging insults over a woman
This was a case in which Peter Musenga, sued Fredrick Mulima after the latter was alleged to have insulted for former through rumours that he was dating a girl belonging to their friend
Musenga told senior local court magistrate Linda Tembo that Mulima insulted him over rumours that he (Mulima) was dating other friends’ girlfriend.
“This guy is my friend. Word has it that he is dating our friend, Idin’s girlfriend because everyone sees them hanging out. I’ve also seen them a couple of times. This guy got upset with me one time and told me I was the one spreading rumours and telling our friend everything,
“He failed to accept that everyone sees him with Idin’s girlfriend. He insulted me so much and I was hurt. He even threatened to kill me and told me he’ll leave my body at the mortuary and go back to South Africa. He has a problem with me and often insults me,” he said
Musenga said even after having sat down to resolve the issue, Mulima continued to insult and called his (Musenga|) wife a prostitute.
“We sat down and talked the issue but there is still a problem. He insults me and calls my wife a prostitute. He told me he will kill me and put my body in a fridge,” he said.
In defence Mulima denied insulting Musenga and told the court that what brought confusion in their friendship was that people thought he was dating their friend’s girlfriend, Anna.
“I was eating at a restaurant one time. Anna was also there. She showed me a message Idin had sent her telling her to stay away from me. She is just a friend. I never accused Musenga of taking any rumors to Idin and I never insulted him,” Mulima said.
The court reconciled the two and advised them to maintain peace since they worked together.
