‘CALL FOR SOCCER INDABA’ …advises former FAZ top official Siwale

FAZ should call for an indaba to iron out differences among stakeholders and find solutions hindering the development of football in Zambia, says its former executive committee member Blackwell Siwale.

Siwale said that there was need for all stakeholders to come together and offer solutions to the current problems in football.

He told the Sun Sport that the observation by the Republican President Edgar Lungu who is also FAZ patron that failure to qualify to two Africa Cups of Nations was worrying should be taken seriously

Siwale said stakeholders needed to iron out their differences as some of them were not happy with the way soccer was being run yet could offer solutions on how best standards could be improved.

“We need to iron out our differences because there are many people that are dissatisfied with the way football is being run and there  are people who can offer solutions but the administration at Football House is not concerned at all,

“If we are serious, we should have had a coach by now to prepare a team for AFCON which takes years; yet we expect a coach to perform miracles after being with the team for two weeks, it’s not possible,” said Siwale.

Siwale said that the infighting that rocked the football fraternity was the more reason for an indaba to be held for the betterment of soccer in Zambia.

“That’s the more reason there should be an indaba because we should iron out our differences, don’t forget one thing though that if you take out Blackwell Siwale from the equation, you have not only taken him out alone but his supporters too,

He said knowing that football was a unifying factor, there was need for the FAZ president Andrew Kamanga to take a leading role in uniting the game by calling for an indaba to discuss issues amicably.

Siwale said that he was willing to work with anyone in the development of the game because it was bigger than anyone including himself and Kamanga.
