Key players miss transitional league coronation match

LEAGUE coronation contenders Green Eagles Football and Zesco United are likely to miss the services of some key players ahead of next Saturdays League final match.

Two of Eagle’s key players have made it to the national team while Zesco united also contribute four of its players to the COSAFA bound squad.

For Zesco the Burundese FA had requested the release of midfielder Enock Sabumukama while the Kenyan Football Federation also requested for the release of David Owino for next moths AfCON tournament.

Owino and Sabumukama have been romped in their national team’s bound Africa Cup of nations slated to start on June 21 in Egypyt.

According to FIFA, a club is obliged to release a player at least two weeks before the beginning of any FIFA sanctioned tournament.

Also missing in the Zesco team are Lazarous Kambole, Clement Mwape and Mwila Phiri who all have made it to the final squad of the COSAFA  squad who will enter the competition on June 2 and were already in South Africa.

Eagles will also miss two of their key players in goal keeper Sebastian Mwange and striker Tapson Kaseba who both are with the national team at the ongoing COSAFA tournament in South Africa.

FAZ on Monday announced that the 2019 transitional league champions coronation match between Green Eagles and Zesco united would take place on Saturday June 8 at the Heroes stadium.
