Forest Ranger player speaks out

MUKWIMA CHILALA writes

FOREST Rangers winger Austin Muwowo says many clubs not just Orlando Pirates, are after him.

Muwowo said that he had not joined Pirates or any other South African Club but was still a Rangers player.

On Saturday, social media reports in South Africa and Zambia said that Muwowo was among some players that had joined Pirates.

However, Muwowo dispelled the rumors after Rangers’ last league game on Sunday saying that he had not joined any club.

“Actually people have been contacting me from outside the country, its not just Orlando but other clubs too,

“Right now I am not going anywhere, for now I’m still here and just waiting to see what happens after the COSAFA tournament.

The former Konkola Blades winger has been in fine form this season scoring 10 goals and emerging joint top scorer alongside NAPSA’s Laudt Mavugo and teammate Adams Zikiru.

His goal scoring prowess has seen him attract interest from various clubs in Zambia as well as some foreign clubs with Pirates being on his trail.

His parent club Nkana had requested to recall the former under 20 star but the player requested to stay on at Forest where he has enjoyed some game time netting 10 league goals.

The winger has been on loan from Nkana since last season and his contract ends in December.

Muwowo is part of the 20-member Zambia national soccer COSAFA bound squad that left for South Africa on Tuesday.
