A Ndola local court has advised a 40-year-old widow, who was dating a 27-year-old man, to find a mature man enough to match her and accord her the respect.
The court also ordered the man to keep away from the older woman with whom he has been cohabiting but at the same time differing and engaging in physical confrontation.
This was after Mulelamimba Kadewele, 40, a money lender dragged her youthful boyfriend Ernest Makasa to court for trespassing and damaging her property.
Ms Kadewele told the court that her husband had died and in 2015 she fell in a love relationship with Ernest, who is 13 years younger than her.
She said at the time she lived alone as her children were studying in institutions abroad.
She said from the time she knew him he had always been a violent person to the extent that he had been picked up and detained by police on four occasions.
On some occasions, she narrated, Ernest would jump jumps over her fence and would show insults on her.
The case was before Kabushi Local Court senior presiding magistrate Agnes Mulenga sitting with Mildred Namwizye and Evelyn Nalwizya.
“He is just my friend, he has no right to break properties in my house. As I am speaking right now, he has broken the front door of my house,” she said.
In his statement, Ernest complained that from the time he has been cohabiting with Ms Kadewele, she has been too jealousy to that she at one time stormed his work place and disrupted a conversation between him and a female customer.
He said she used to send people to check if he was interacting with any women or moved with women in his car.
“Each time I came back home late, she was always getting upset and would shout at me. Sometimes she follows me when I am with friends to ask why I was with them and not with her,” he said.
Ernest said one day he beat her up because she went and disturbed him at his place of work just because he was attending to a female customer.
Mr Makasa said he was not the one who broke the house door and that it was the police who did it because he locked himself in the house when they wanted to apprehend him.
He however said he loved Ms Kadewele and wanted to marry her but that she was filled with jealous and that he could not live like that.
He said Ms Kadewele refuses to open for him when he comes home late and yet him he opens for her and that was the reason he used to jump over the fence.
In passing judgment, the court ordered the man to stay 100 metres away from Ms Kadewele.
The court further urged Ms Kadewele to find a matured man who would respect her if she wanted to get married again.
