Barclays Bank wins Best Bank award

BARCLAYS Bank Zambia PLC has for the second consecutive year been awarded the 2019 Best Bank in the country accolade by Global Finance for the second consecutive year.

Commenting on the award, Barclays Bank Zambia PLC Managing Director, Mizinga Melu said the institution’s agility and investment in technology had enabled its customers to enjoy products and services that were relevant to their needs.

Ms Melu said in a statement yesterday that the bank remained committed to providing cutting-edge banking solutions and that its determination to be a more customer centric organisation remains unwavering.

 “We are proud to be the recipient of this prestigious accolade for the second consecutive year, which is testament to our commitment to bring possibilities to life through the provision of world-class banking solutions.

“As part of the Absa Group, we remain committed to providing cutting-edge banking solutions and our determination to be a more customer centric organisation remains unwavering,” she said.

She said with more than 100 years of operating in Zambia, the bank had been a leader in the provision of innovative banking products and services, catering for the diverse needs of its customers.

“In July 2018, the Bank announced its Group name change to Absa Group Limited which will pave way to the Bank’s brand name change to Absa by 2020, following regulatory approval.

“Additionally, Barclays unveiled a new digital strategy that is anchored on convenient banking solutions in order to reach a wider audience across country as well as its continued drive to support the growth of the economy and communities that the Bank operates in, Ms Melu said.
