A Ndola housewife painfully narrated in a court that her husband impregnated their landlord’s daughter while she went to her mother’s place to deliver.
She said her husband was having sex with four different women and that whenever she complained, he told her to take alcohol for her not to be thinking too much.
She said this in defence when her husband sued her for divorce.
Gift Chanda a 31-year-old electrician of Kabushi Township sued Pauline Chishimba 26, for divorce due to marital disputes.
In her statement, Ms Chishimba said she did not want to divorce her husband because she loved him and wanted both of them to look after their children.
She said whatever her husband only wanted to divorce her so that he could be free to move around with other women.
“When I went to my mother’s house to deliver, he used to bring in a lady in the house and sleep with her on our matrimonial bed. People used to call me and tell me that my home was being destroyed,” she said
The case was before Kabushi local court senior presiding magistrate Agnes Mulenga sitting with Mildred Namwizye and Evelyn Nalwizya.
She said her husband impregnated their landlord’s daughter as she went to give birth at her mother’s place.
Ms Chishimba said both families sat down and they reconciled but after a few months he started seeing another woman by the name of Towela and when she complained, he told her to take alcohol for her not to think too much.
