A LUSAKA woman has sued her former boyfriend for child maintenance which he has not been offering since child was born.
This is a case before Chelstone Local Court presiding magistrate Mary Namangala in a matter in which Annie Chisha,31, of Avondale sued her ex-boyfriend Mubita Shimashela,34, of Garden compound.
She told the court that. Shimashela did support his own child, not even providing food for him.
“Our child is only one year old and doesn’t know any support from his father; he works as a garden boy and always gets something at the end of the month but doesn’t give me any money,” She said.
In defence Shimashela denied the allegation claiming that he did support his child.
“You can even ask her if I did not send a K200 in her mobile money account recently,” He said.
Chisha said all she wanted was the court to help her on how Shimashela could start supporting his child.
The Court ordered Shimashela to start supporting his child with a K300 every month effective May 16, 2019 and also to provide all the needs for the child.
