Two men reconciled over gear box

A MAN who was sued for failing to refund K2, 000 for a gear box has been reconciled with the vendor in the Chilenje Local Court. Samson Nfune, 49, of Chilenje Township was sued by Collins Chiti, 36, a business man of the same area for payment of the money in question. Chiti told senior local court magistrate Ackim Phiri sitting with Patrick Nyirenda the he sold a gear box worth K2, 000 to Nfune. “The problem came in when I was told that the gear was not Nfune asked for refund of the K2, 000 and I agreed to pay him back,” said Chiti After a few days, he called Nfune to come and collect a K500 down payment but he refused to accept the money even after he followed him at his house “We started arguing and that’s how I decided to come to court so that they help us,” Chiti said. Chiti said he wanted the court to reconcile them over the payment of K2, 000 he owed. “I agree to pay back the money in small installments,” said Chiti Nfune said when he found out that Chiti was selling his gear box, he borrowed a K2, 000 somewhere to buy it. “I purchased the gear box but the mechanic fixing my car said it wasn’t compatible with my engine. I called Chiti and explained to him that the gear box was not going to work and I needed a refund of my K2, 000,” Nfune said. “He said because of the understandings that followed later, he asked Chiti to meet him at the police station to resolve the matter. “The police asked him to refund my money. I don’t know why he has brought me to court because I have not complained about him. I want him to pay my money,” Nfune said. The court ordered Chiti to refund the K2, 000 in two installments of K1, 000 and the two were reconciled. ENDS
