Topstar will continue to develop new services and technologies that will add value to consumer experience and ensure that it delivers exceptional digital television to millions of Zambians, says company vice president Cliff Sichone.

Mr Sichone said, in keeping abreast of current trends, the company recently introduced LED digital televisions with inbuilt decoders.

He was speaking in Lusaka during the launch of new (NOVA PLUS BOUQUET), and Easter campaign recently. Mr Sichone said the company also recently introduced the StarTimes 50-and 55-inch Smart TVs which came with an inbuilt decoder and internet applications.

“All these come with three-month free subscription complete with a satellite dish and all other accessories,

“TopStar will continue to make it easier for customers to access and enjoy digital life through the provisions of modern and innovative technology, affordable subscriptions and hardware prices,” Mr Sichone said.

And in a quest to help uplift the skills required for the production of local content in Zambia, Mr Sichone said TopStar had started to engage with local content providers.

He said this was to ensure that viewers were being provided with quality local content by the TV stations on the TopStar platforms.

“This is also in line with the government’s desire to have more appealing local content that resonates with the Zambian people,” said Mr Sichone.

Mr Sichone further said TopStar continued to be the home of Zambian TV and would endure to bring reality of digital TV to thousands of viewers with wider options to choose from at affordable prices.

He said all that would include local dramas, sports, current affairs, romance and children’s content among others.
