Female referee elates Mwanakatwe

LUSAKA female referee Sarah Selemani has been commended for exhibiting exceptional sportsmanship.

Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe who watched a 1 -1 draw league fixture between City of Lusaka and Petauke United over the weekend at Woodlands in Lusaka hailed Selemani for massive knowledge on the game.

“She is very fit and she is running on the pitch without getting tired. This is very good. She is a good referee and she is very brave,” Mwanakatwe said.

Mwanakatwe described Selemani as a fearless woman.

Mwanakatwe, who took some time off after the end of the match to interact with Selemani said it is good that women were actively involved in football.

City of Lusaka, who came from behind scored through striker Dickson Mwana from the spot-kick on 12th minute after the Eastern Province side took the lead on seventh minute through Eric Banda’s header.

This is according to information posted on the club’s facebook page.
