THE prize money for this year’s Zanaco Master’s golf tournament has gone up, says Lusaka Golf Club captain, Noel Nkhoma.
Nkhoma said for the club to attract high calibre golfers for the tournament, it would increase the purse money just like for the Zambia Open held at Nkana Golf Club.
“We are trying as much as possible to meet the small deficit, we are working around the clock with my chairman Roy Penny to get in the remaining sponsorship because the prize money has been increased,” he said.
Nkhoma said that the Club currently had K185, 000 as purse money which it wanted to increase to attract international golfers to attend. He said in the next few days there would be a chain of golf events such as the Zimbabwe Open happening this week, followed by the Zambia Open at Nkana in the last week of March and Zanaco Masters slated for Lusaka Golf Club later
