Zambians in raw business deals

GOVERNMENT should consider limiting certain types of businesses to Zambians only as a way of empowering them, a concerned citizen has said.

Chris Mall Lodge director Chrispin Chiinda said some businesses should be solely limited to Zambians to make it easier for the locals to thrive and earn a living.

In an interview with the Sun Mr Chiinda said Government should look into the issue with the urgency it deserves so that businesses such as poultry should only be done by Zambians.

ā€œGovernment should look into this issue where even some simple businesses such as poultry for example should only be done by Zambians,

ā€œWe want proper investors and not a situation where some foreigners have even started trading in cabbage (vegetables) business. I think we need to change this type  of approach  to doing business in our country,ā€ said Mr Chiinda

And Mr Chiinda has urged Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to re-invest the little they make to grow their businesses.

He said majority of local SMEs did not have the financial capacity to compete with foreign businesses hence the importance of leaving out some businesses to Zambians.

Mr Chiinda further urged Zambians not to look down on humble beginnings in business and advised SMEs to always save and re-invest in their business.

Recently some Zambians complained over the increase in the number of foreign investors involved in the running groceries which should be the sole preserve for Zambians
