Chalala hair dresser with a future

LINDA SOKO TEMBO Writes

A HAIR dresser of Lusaka’s Chalala residential area, who has been in that  business for past 16 years, says it has made his life easy and comfortable.

Mr Davy Mutale said hair cutting has been a source of his livelihood and was able to make about K2, 000 profits every month when business was good.

Mr Mutale said he first started his business at Chris Corner in Chilenje and later moved to Chilala where he saw business opportunities.

In an interview with the Sun, Mr Mutale said from the time he started his business he had been able to look after his family, adding that last year he opened another shop in Pemba Road in Chilenje Township.

“I started my business in 2003, what lead me to start the business is that in this part of Chalala they were no barber shops as most of the houses were not constructed by then,

“I make about K2000 a month and manage to rent a house for K 1, 500 and I am also able to feed my family at sometimes when business is not very good I make about K 1,000,” he said.

Mr Mutale advised men not to choose what kind of jobs or business to do for them to earn an income as long as it was not crooked business.

He said some people thought his business was a joke and yet he was able to make a living out of it.  “As long as you put your mind and focus to it, the business grows” he said.
