CHITOTELA’S CASE FAILS TO TAKE OFF

The matter in which Infrastructure Development Minister Ronald Chitotela is charged with two counts of corruption has been deferred to a later date.

Chitotela could not take plea on whether he is guilty or not because the third accused person, was not before court.

He is facing two charges of having property which is reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.

The minister is also jointly charged with three others, namely Gregory Chibanga, Brut Holdings Limited and Diris Mukange on four counts of concealing of Property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

In the first count, between 1st of July 2016 and 30th October 2018, Mr Chitotela is alleged to have concealed plot number 148 of farm 50A situated in Lusaka’s, Makeni.

Mr Chitotela is alleged to have disguised property in the name of Diris Mukange.

In the second count, Chitotela allegedly concealed Subdivision A of plot 22183/M situated in Ibex Hill Lusaka
