ZANACO Football Club management has denied media reports that it has given its technical bench performance based contracts and ultimatums to win a certain number of games this year.
Club general manager Marlon Kananda said that the contracts in question could have been signed by the former executive committee and not his management.
‘’First of all anything to do with contracts are personal issues, we wouldn’t want to come out harshly on our coaches’’, he said.
Speaking in an interview with The Sun sports, Kananda said those contracts may have been issued when the club had an executive committee, adding however that contracts were personal matters and it would be better to have the other party present when discussing them.
He could therefore not confirm whether or not the executive committee had given the technical bench performance based contracts or any ultimatum as he had not looked at the contracts of the members of the technical bench.
“It would have been good for the other party (technical bench) to be present. It’s a two way thing and contracts were signed before I was appointed,’’ he said.
Kananda charged that Zanaco Football Club was a responsible corporate entity, meeting all club licensing criteria with an appointed general manager, administration and communications department.
Some technical bench members were last weekend quoted in the media of having disclosed that the club management had given them performance based contracts and ultimatums to win a certain number of games in the 2019 soccer season.
