Virginity ‘interference’ costs man K6,000

A filing station attendant has been slapped with a K6000 penalty for damaging a girl’s virginity  and impregnating her.

Steve Mutale, 29, of New Chilenje was appearing before Local court justices Kalunga Chansa and Ackim Phiri,  in a matter in which he was sued by Annie Sakala, 45, also of New Chilenje.

Sakala had sued Mutale for damaging the virginity of her daughter, Moono, 24 at the time she was 19.

She told the court that from 2013 when the two families met and agreed on what should be paid, Mutale had not paid anything and his family were reluctant to help saying, he was old enough to take care of the matter.

Mutale accepted responsibility and promised to start paying K200 but the court ordered him to be paying K500 inclusive of child maintenance. The payment would be made at the court effective this month
